The AdWords Campaign Watcher
- Checks your campaigns' cost per conversion values up to every hour. If a campaign's cost per conversion value exceeds the pause value set by you, the AdWords Campaign Watcher automatically pauses the campaign.
- Sends you emailed or text message check reports with campaign stats up to every hour. Or you can opt to get check reports only when a campaign is paused.
How the AdWords Campaign Watcher Works
- Campaigns are checked up to every hour, depending on a user’s membership plan. The free plan allows you to monitor up to 4 campaigns every 4 hours. Campaigns are only checked or paused during “check report”

- A campaign will be paused when it’s cost per conversion value exceeds or equals the pause value. If there are no conversions the campaign will be paused if its adspend exceeds or equals the pause value.
- If a user manually unpauses a campaign, the Campaign Watcher will reset its conversion and adspend counts for that campaign when the next check report is run.
- All campaigns with conversions are “zeroed out” at midnight every day. In other words, the campaigns’ conversion counts are reset to zero, and the adspend counts are reset to zero. “Midnight” is per the time zone set in the Adwords account being monitored.
- If a campaign does not accrue enough adspend to exceed the pause value in one day, the Campaign Watcher will carry the adspend count from the earlier day over into the next day, or until the adspend exceeds the pause value.
- There is an advanced option to set a special pause value for certain hours. For example: If your campaign tends to have higher cost per conversions from midnight to 3am, you can set a special pause value for just those three hours. This special setting allows for more precise monitoring.
